Qasimiya

Qasimiya

The Qasimiya or Qasmi order, is a Naqshbandi in origin, and is based in a small village called Mohra Shareef outside the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. It was made into a spiritual center by Hazrat Baba Ji Muhammad Qasim Sadiq (b. 1263 A.H.).

The Naqshbandiya [or Naqshbandi] order was founded by Shaykh Bahuddin Naqshband born in the 8th (A.H.)/14th (A.D.) century near Bukhara, in present day Uzbekistan, [Central Asia], but which at that time was culturally a part of the Persian speaking world. The order spread rapidly from its original home into the eastern areas of Persia and present day Afghanistan, and from there, into the Indian sub-continent which then became home of some of its greatest later figures.

After Hazrat Baba Ji passed away, the spiritual duties of Mohra Shareef were shouldered by his son, Pir Muhammad Zahid. Pir Muhammad Zahid was born in the year 1902 and was one of 6 children. During his lifetime, he appointed his eldest son, Pir Aftab Ahmed Qasmi, his successor.

On December 9th, 1993, Pir Muhammad Zahid passed away. Since his successor, Pir Aftab Ahmed Qasmi, had passed away the year before, the responsibilities of Mohra Shareef have been taken up by Hazrat Pir Auliya Badshah Farooq.

Dr. Pir Fazeel Ayaz, a physican before he decided to devote his life to the cause of Islam, now travels the world propagating the message of Islam, as done by his forefathers.
